Steps:
Print out the picture(s) of different fruit.
Using a Q-Tip you will paint the picture by making small dots until the picture is completely covered.
Try using only prime colors and making the color of the fruit by alternating the 2 colors when painting to make the correct color of the fruit. (Red+Yellow=Orange | Yellow+Blue=Green | Blue+Red=Purple)
Once your paintings are dry, hang them up across the room and stand back and watch the colors mix to make the new (secondary) color.
Lesson 2 | Pointillism Landscapes
2nd - 6th Grade
Supplies:
Markers
Paper
Pencil
Steps:
Draw out a landscape scene. If you can, get outside to get inspiration for your scene.
Using the markers make small dots to color in your picture.
To make new colors you will alternate back and forth with 2 colors. For example, if you want a darker green alternated between making dots with the green and gray/black marker. If you are wanting a lighter shade of a color try spacing the dots out further so that the white paper shows through more.
Remember to take a step back from your picture periodically so you can see it has a whole and not just as a bunch of small dots!
